To download a course material from Coursera, Recently I had tried a lot of open scripts available on the Internet but each script has its own assumptions and limitations and is of little use.
Here I am sharing, the best and simplest solution to download bulk videos, subtitles, PPTs and PDFs from Coursera.

ReplyDeleteHi I am getting error when downloading the files. All files initially start with downloader.js.html file. So when it download the same file again mapping to actual another video I dont know what option to use. skip/rename/overwrite etc.
ReplyDeleteI tried all but it failed for me.
Thanks, great resource. I am even willing to contribute to DownloadThemAll because it is effective and not pushy!
ReplyDeleteIt's really great.
ReplyDeleteThis plugin serves a purpose of external download manager as well.
But the speed is too low for me.
ReplyDeletemaybe you can try
https://github.com/jplehmann/coursera
I had trouble setting it up on my mac (stupid dependencies -_-)
DeleteSo, I just went with this DownloadThemAll add-on and it works fine...
simply just awesome work! hats off!
ReplyDeleteAwesome addon, easier than a one by one monkey download!
ReplyDeleteMy method is easy but you need a jailbroken iDevice:
ReplyDelete1. On your iPhone/Pad/Whatever, download the coursepad app which is a free official coursera app.
2. Go to your course and push the "download all material" button represented by an arrow to the bottom, on the upper right corner.
3. Then use your favorite scp manager (scp/linux, WinSCP/Windows, FileZilla/All OSes, CyberDuck/MacOS) to go to your iDevice (you must have enabled SSH by installing openssh in cydia in order to do that) and browse to this folder:
/var/mobile/Application//
(To know coursepad's ID you can install iFile(from Cydia) and enable the "Options->File Manager->Application Names" option)
4. All folders inside this folder correspond to all your subscribed courses' material (Videos/mp4 and slideshows/pdf, not pdf text courses). So just copy all you need!
Sorry but the blog interpreted an HTML Tag... So the right directory to browse to is:
Delete/var/mobile/Application/< coursepad's ID >/Documents
